OF MOUDANIA CHESS ACADEMY 2016

From Monday 22nd of August 2016 until Tuesday 30th of August 2016

SCHEDULE




1) ORGANIZATION: Chess Academy of Nea Moudania in cooperation with the E.S.S.TH-CH, the Hellenic Chess Federation and under the auspices of the Municipality of NEAS PROPONTIDAS.

2) PLAYING HALL: Τhe 2nd Primary School of Nea Kallikrateia (Osias Paraskeuis 39, opposite of the old Town Hall of Nea Kallikratia).

3) PLAYING SYSTEM:  FIDE rated Swiss system of 9 (nine) rounds in two groups: (a) Major ELO>1900 (women ELO>1800), and (b) Minor <1900. FIDE title norms are possible!

4) TIME TABLE: From August 22 to August 30, 2016.

5) CONFIRMATION OF  ENTRIES: Monday, August 22, 2016 14:00
Opening Ceremony: Monday, August 22, 2016 at 17:00
Closing Ceremony: Tuesday, August 30, after the games at the 2nd Primary School of Nea Kallikrateia .

Attention! There will be a late arrival forfeit for players that do not show up for their game after half an hour (30’) from the official start of a round.

6) RATE OF PLAY-TIME CONTROL:  The rate of play will be 90 minutes for 40 moves followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with an increment of 30 seconds per move, starting from move one.

7) TIE BREAKS
1) Results of direct encounter(s) between the players
2) Buchholz criterion (the sum of the scores of each of the opponents of a player)
3) The Median Buchholz criterion (the Buchholtz after removing the highest and   lowest score of the opponents)
4) Sonneborn-Berger criterion (adding scores of the opponents who were beaten by a given player.).
5) Greater number of victories

8) ENTRY FEES: A Group (Major): General entry fee 40 €, 2nd -50% (to the cheapest fee) family member.
Group B (Minor): General entry fee 30 €, 2nd family member -50% (to the cheapest fee). Adults > 16 years 20 €. Adults > 12 years 15 €. Those who wish to participate in Group A will have a 50% surcharge on the fee.
FREE ADMISSION FOR: (a) Players with ELO> 2300, (b)  disabled, and (c) 3rd family members.
Deposit administration fees until Friday, August 19, 2016.

9) PRIZES:
A) CASH  PRIZES The total cash prizes that will be awarded to the winners of the tournament amount to more than 4400 euro and will be distributed as follows:

2nd of the General Classification  800 EURO
3rd of the General Classification  400 EURO
4th of the General Classification  150 EURO
5th of the General Classification  100 EURO
6th of the General Classification  100 EURO

First with ELO <2300  150 EURO
Second with ELO <2300  100 EURO
First with ELO <2100  150 EURO
Second with ELO <2100  100 EURO

       B GROUP(MINOR)
1st of the General Classification  400 EURO
2nd of the General Classification  200 EURO
3rd of the General Classification  100 EURO

* All cash prizes ties shared with the HORT system (50% of the prize money is shared equally and 50% depending on the criteria of a tie).
* When someone is entitled to two or more special prizes, the highest one is awarded.

Β) CUPS AND MEDALS:  Cups and medals will be awarded to:

10) POSTPONEMENT OF  MATCHES:  The postponement of matches is not allowed.

11) TIME OFF: Each player will have the right to take time off (skip a match and win ½ points) twice during the tournament and before the 7th round. The decision to take time off should be stated to the chief arbiter at the end of the previous round. After the 7th round there will be no time off.
12) OBJECTIONS: Made up to 1/2 hour after the end of the round. The Appeals Committee which consists of three members and two alternate members will be responsible for the hearing of any appeal. The Appeal committee will exempt any member related to the athletes involved in the complaint and replace it with one of the alternate ones. The fee is fixed at 50 € and can be submitted to the director or to the chief referee of the competition. If the objection is upheld, the fee is returned, otherwise it is to be deducted in favor of the event.

13) ACCOMMODATION: The chess players freely choose their place of residence.

17) ENTRY FEE REGISTRATION:
Valid participations require a deposit fee with  THE SURNAME OF PLAYER on behalf of Moudania Chess Academy until Friday 19th of August.

The subject of the sent e-mails should be entitled "2nd INTERNATIONAL CHESS TOURNAMENT OF NEA MOUDANIA CHESS ACADEMY 2016" and all emails should include  Reg E.S.O. the FIDE ID, name and surname as well as the chess club of the player.

The website as well as its Facebook account will host favourable prices of hotel rooms and camping that are located near the playing hall so that chess players and their escorts may receive updated offers for the accommodation of their preference.

19) ANTI-CHEATING CONTROL: The organizers will apply the regulations of  F.I.D.E. for Anti-cheating control.

20) PARALLEL EVENTS: Parallel with the tournament, a FIDE Arbiters' Seminar and a rated blitz tournament is going to be organized.
